07/19/2010 - John Henry Brandon was convicted by a jury of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a revoked license.  The jury recommended a sentence of 5 years in jail for the DUI and 1 year in jail for the driving with a revoked license charge.

04/27/2010 - Alexander Addison Chesbro entered guilty pleas to four counts of the illegal solicitation for sex of one believed to be less than 15 years of age. Chesbro will serve an active sentence of 20 years in the Virginia Department of Corrections.

01/25/2010 - Kim White was honored last Thursday, January 21, 2010, to have been selected and inducted as a Virginia Law Foundation Fellow last Thursday.

09/20/2007 - David Hill convicted of Malicious Wounding.

09/10/2007 - Zeleig Martin pleads guilty to Drug Distribution, Conspiracy and numerous counts of Gang Participation.

01/17/2007 - Kevin Scott Morris (former Executive Director of the County IDA) taken into custody on charges of Felony Possession of Sexual Explicit Material (which utilizes or has as a subject a child of less than 18-years of age).

01/25/2006 - Calvin Eugene Watkins convicted of Malicious Wounding (of Tremaine Walker) and Murder in the Second Degree (of Herman L. Louden).

11/21/2005 - Kim White, Halifax County Commonwealth's Attorney, selected to serve on the newly formed Virginia Criminal Justice Conference (VCJC).
